Second only to the Labrador Retriever, the Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dogs in America. Although the Golden Retriever has the potential to become a fabulous family dog, socialization and training is necessary to smooth out the breed's energy and enthusiasum for life.
The Golden Retriever's gentle nature and sweet disposition is its greatest quality. When trained and socialized, the Golden Retriever is just about the best friend anyone could find. Don't be supprised if strangers come up to you just to say hello to your beautiful dog. Remember, your Golden Retriever is an extrovert, always happy, and ready to follow you wherever you ask him to go.
Our family has a beautiful 2 year-old Golden Retriever named Tess. Tess absolutely adores everyone in the extended family especially our 5 and 6 year old grandchildren.
